Baby please come home

Antlers - Pound Stretcher
T-shirt - M&S Outlet
Belt - Primark
Tinsel - Primark
Dignity skirt - H&M
Socks - eBay

Here is my reindeer costume for tomorrow night! It's my friend's birthday and we're all off to Live Lounge in Christmas-themed outfits, exciting! I originally bought this 'sexy reindeer' outfit from eBay but it just didn't fit right, and it was ridiculously short! Today I went around every charity shop, cheapy clothes shop and high street store I could find looking for something brown. I didn't find anything remotely wear-able except this XXLarge men's t-shirt in M&S. I was gonna make it into a skirt but it turns out it's almost long enough to be a dress so I just stitched some tinsel to it, put a skirt under it (for dignity purposes) and wore a belt around it! Pleased with myself, even if I do look like Friar Tuck from Robin Hood just a little bit!

My little tornado

Dress: Topshop
Cardi: Primark
Necklace: Matalan

Finally a real post! This photo isn't the best quality but the outfit isn't that exciting either tbh!

I haven't done much today really, went to Uni to do some work on a presentation for a couple of hours then had a nap! I also had my first ever Domino's pizza today and I was really unimpressed, it's all overpriced and really just not worth it for what you get! Gonna stick to Pizza Hut I think!

Trying to use the evening productively to type up some notes but have just spent an hour and a half on the phone to my dear boyfriend waffling on about nothing-in-particular. Procrastination at its best.

Sunday #3

Top - H&M
Cardi - Primark

This is a scheduled post (writing this on Friday 2nd) as I am in Bristol all weekend with my dear boyfriend. I have so much Uni work to do that this can't be sensible but I don't care ;)

I love this cat top from Tee and Cake. It's so slouchy and comfy. Oh, and it's covered in cats! There's something about cats on clothes that just makes me really happy! I love cats in real life too, although they never seem too fond of me. One time our cat leapt across a whole room to attack my face, luckily she was small so she didn't quite make it but you never know, maybe next time...

No faith in medicine

Dress - Republic
Cardi - Primark
Belt - Primark

This is what I wore to Uni today. I don't normally do belts but I thought I'd be daring!

Also, I painted my nails last night and am really quite proud of how they turned out! I just used cheapy nail art pens from eBay :)

Sunday #2

Well since I last posted I've been quite busy. On Friday night Josh came to stay and we went for drinks with some of my friends and ended up playing Blind Man's Buff at about 3am. Because we are cool.

We slept all day on Saturday and in the evening we made a curry and a cheesecake which were both pretty impressive! Then we watched Misfits and ate chips with homemade garlic mayo, mmm.

Today we went into town to find me some new glasses; I got some of the cheapy ones, they remind me of the old-skool emo trend haha but they suit me!

I also dyed my hair on Thursday night, it looks black but it's actually a really rich shade of dark brown, I'm quite pleased even if the box did say 'Midnight Red'!

We share our mothers' health

(Cardi - Topman, t-shirt - Primark, skirt - no idea, necklace - H&M)
This skirt used to be a vest an old friend gave me. I hate vests but I love the pattern so I chopped the top half off and now it is a super awesome skirt! Skills.

Today I had a day off. After a nice long lie-in on my new memory foam mattress (mmmmm) to recover from last night's shenanigans (think £5 cocktail jugs and playing Truth or Dare and Ring of Fire in the middle of a pub) I got dressed and dragged myself into Cardiff for my eye test. Let me just say that Google Maps doesn't know anything and it sent me to Tiger Tiger instead of Boots. Obviously it thinks I'm an alcoholic.

Should be getting some new glasses soon which is exciting, I'm thinking Gok Wan for Specsavers but we'll see. I don't want to choose some on my own in case I choose absolutely ridiculous ones so I'm waiting until next week when I can drag my friends with me!
I also bought myself a grey t-shirt, a stag ring and some studded bangles from Primark. And some taters from Sainsbury's ;)

Sunday #1

This is what my face looks like today. It looks like this most days tbh. I've seen the 'weekly portrait' thing on a few blogs and thought it'd be fun to see if I can keep one going too.

18 November

Blouse - Mela Loves London @ New Look, bra - Primark, skirt = H&M, necklace - charity shop

I'm lacking imagination to make creative titles for my posts any more!

Last night there was a 'Spots Party' at the Students' Union for Children in Need. Getting drunk for charity doesn't seem right to me but I had a bad day and just wanted to do something fun! I had a few drinks with some of my friends at their flat and then we headed down but it was almost empty. We ran into a few other people who were going to Cardiff so we went with them and spent most of the night in Live Lounge until it got really packed so we went to McDonalds then went home! I found £1 by the till which was nice!

Home is where...?

Cardi - Primark, t-shirt - Primark mens, skirt - H&M, necklace - H&M

Here is my super moody modelling pose as I am having a grumpy day.

The past few days have been nice, I went to Bristol to see my boyfriend and we watched Lost a lot and we looked around the German Christmas market which was exciting! I had a hot chocolate with amaretto which was amazing, definitely going to make my own when Christmas comes closer. First time I've ever been ID'd to buy hot chocolate though haha!

I'm having some housemate bother at the moment (people taking/using my stuff mostly) which is why I'm a bit down. It's not very nice to be living with people who have no respect for your belongings.

Big spender

Just a short post of photos of a few things I've bought recently :)

Ring from H&M. I also bought a set of Halloween rings but didn't get a good photo of them, here is a link to a better picture I found via google.

Stripy top from Zara. Don't judge me for wearing jeggings, I'm having a lazy day!

And this is my lazy day outfit! I bought this Primark top from the mens section yesterday, only £1! I wanted more but they didn't have any nice colours in the size I wanted :(
(Stripy vest from H&M and jeggings from Next ages ago.)

And finally this beautiful cardi I mentioned in a previous post, I got it for under £13 from eBay and originally I think it retailed at between £45 and £50 (Topshop). So pleased with myself :)

Two dresses

I suppose I should start with a brief description of Saturday night's events. Josh bought me a bottle of wine for £7.90 and then proceeded to drink half of it. Mixed in with the several pints of San Miguel and Stella he drank, you can guess that the night did not end well. I'll just say that he owes a lot to the kind policewoman who offered him and his family a lift home. I ended up with a Maccies and a £13 taxi ride back to Josh's (via the houses of three other people I know vaguely from work) two hours later.

Anyway, tonight I am off out again, this time for a proper drink/party session! I have two dresses that I haven't worn yet. One is a lovely studded shift dress bought in the sale from H&M in a size 16 (£7). However if I tie it right it looks really nice (well I think it does anyway!). As you can see, in the first photo I'm wearing it just as it comes and in the second I have worked my magic (it came with a little ribbon-y belt), much better!

My second option is this lovely lacy dress I got a while ago in the New Look sale. It's one-shouldered and I just really love it. And it was also only £7! Bargains :D

(Watch necklace: River Island, lipstick: Starry Eyed by Rimmel with a bit of Showbiz by 17 smudged over the top. I love mixing lipsticks!)

I think I'm going to wear the lacy dress as I have some fairly perfect shoes lined up to go with it.

I bought them in Cardiff last year from Blue Banana. They are incredible! Sadly though the stars are only stick-on and some of mine have fallen off, but no worries as they are really comfy and still awesome!

Last but not least, my nails for today:

I'm almost ashamed to admit that I've been taken in by this 'galaxy' trend, but there you go. I'm waiting for the knock-off Black Milk galaxy leggings to come to the high street, as $75 is a bit steep for leggings in my opinion! Here I just did a layer of Barry M Navy, then a sponged on a cheap shiny pink, then blue glitter, then pink glitter (all three from my huge nail art pen/brush collection, thanks eBay!). It was hard to capture the sparkly-ness with my camera but this is the best photo I could get! If I had some starry confetti I'd probably whack some of that on them too ;)

Birthday drinks

Tonight we are going out for Josh's Dad's 50th birthday. Not a huge night out, just a few drinks in Monty's. I was originally planning to sneak a bottle of 'water' (read: Malibu) in and just buy lemonade all night but Lynsey has informed me that you can get a bottle of wine from Monty's for about £6 so I think I'll stick to the rules and just buy myself a bottle! Plus I'll only have to queue once and it is a Saturday after all.

I was originally going to wear my H&M sack-looking dress as a top with a bodycon skirt but this morning a recent eBay purchase arrived at the door and it's so nice that I decided I must wear it tonight! I have had a bit of a palaver with the underwear, my stick-on bra has lost its stickyness so I've had to attach my normal bra to one of the strappy bits on the back of the dress to avoid the dreaded bra mis-alignment. Haha!

(Dress: Topshop via eBay, pearl-style necklace: Topshop, silver-style necklace: Accessorize, bow headband: Claire's Accessories)
Apologies for the blurriness, my camera apparently didn't want to auto-focus. You get the idea though.

Although I am wearing necklaces, this dress does allow a glimpse of my newest tattoo. Here is a better picture, which also allows a glimpse of my new top from Asda!

I am so uninspired by my hair at the moment. I actually hate it a little bit. I almost always wear it tied up, when it's down it just looks flat and stiff and it doesn't swish like I want it to at all! I need it to growwww! D:

Other goings on this week:

Josh and some of my other friends were on Deal or No Deal! I applied for five audience tickets last year and in February they rang me about a week before the show was filmed and asked me if I was available. I had to work so I missed it but Ashley, Tom, Stacey, Bethany and Josh went instead and now they are famous and I'm not!! We saw Josh loads, people were texting him and sending him fb posts saying 'I've just seen you on telly!' haha. It was awesome.

I won the most amazing cardi on eBay. It's Topshop and I desperately wanted it when it was originally in the shops but those were days when I didn't have a job. I won it for £12.50 when originally it was £45! It's black with gold beads/studs. Mmmm <3

My nails at present:

They're a bit chipped because I did them on Wednesday but I've had a fair few compliments, which is always appreciated!

I think this post has been a bit wordy so I'll leave it there!

She's dressed to kill, I don't know what to wear

(Blouse -Topshop, 'leather' jacket - Next, jeans -had them for ages, maybe Matalan?, bow - Claire's Accessories)

Josh and I are going to a barbeque later at one of his work friends' houses. From what I've heard the past few have been pretty fun so I'm excited. I've got a bottle of pink wine for civilised afternoon/evening conversation and then a bottle of raspberry Sourz for later on ;) haha!

Recently I have been channelling my inner emo child. It sounds so lame but it feels more like the 'real me'. I've been hunting for my checkerboard Vans (which I wanted to wear with today's outfit) but sadly I think they are long gone :( I am totally getting some new ones. I'm also craving some Topshop creepers (below)

but alas, my new budgeting scheme is preventing me from splashing out. This is probably a good thing though!

We went to see Harry Potter at midnight on Thurs/Friday and although we were going to dress up (I wanted to rock a pink bow like Umbridge and Josh would have made an awesome Hagrid!) thankfully we didn't get it together because nobody else was dressed up! I did my nails in a somewhat 'magical' style though:

(Betty Blues by No7, cheapy gold glitter pen from eBay. Please excuse the splodgies!)

Be my heater be my lover

(M&S cardi, Republic (Miso) playsuit, Punky Pins 'kissing kids' necklace)

Just a quick post today. It's been ridiculously hot the past week or so and I can't handle hot weather at all. Every morning is like a battle with my (predominantly winter-appropriate) wardrobe. Yesterday I went on a long walk/scavenger hunt-type event with the Girl Guides and I wore my baggy Guides top and high-waisted shorts. I never do bare legs so it had to be see-through tights. I have no body confidence :/

Today I have college and I dug out this playsuit that I wore once and one of the straps broke so I never wore it again. This morning, in sheer desperation I stitched it back up and remembered how flattering it is :) Also I found my long lost Topshop swallows necklace in the pocket which was awesome!

At the moment the sun has gone behind a cloud so I feel it is okay to be wearing a cardi. And I went for black tights 'coz see-through meant there was just a bit too much flesh on show!

Later on I'll upload a photo of the amazing dress I found in a charity shop on Saturday :D

Charity Shop Haul

Today I got up pretty early to get a lift into town with my sister on her way to college.
Here is my outfit of the day:

(Asos t-shirt, H&M skirt. Also wore my trusty denim jacket from Topshop and studded New Look pumps.)
I have no idea what my hair is doing today. Stupid hair.

I had some stuff to return to H&M where I also got a new skirt and some flip-flops, then I went around a few shops and then I went on a huge charity shop mission. First of all I bought a Celia Birtwell tea tray from Hope House. It's only little, maybe enough for two cups of tea but I might use it for something else, not sure what yet. It was only £1.75.

Then I went around a few more shops but they mostly just had clothes. And as much as I love clothes, I never really seem to find much that I like in charity shops. Shame. In Sue Ryder Care I almost bought a really cute round mustard-coloured teapot. It was lovely but not really amazing. I decided that I would be needing a teapot for Uni though so I stuck it on my list of things I was looking for.

In the British Heart Foundation I struck teapot gold! (Also trackie bottom gold but that's not nearly as exciting). It was labeled '99p damaged' but I inspected it and the lady behind the till inspected it and all we could find was a teeny chip inside the lid. Although I haven't tested it so maybe it leaks. But it's still amazing...

Haha! How adorable! Even my Dad approves.

I went around a few more charity shops after that but didn't find much except a DVD. Here is a photo of my purchases (minus nail varnish remover haha).

(Fun With Dick and Jane DVD, black trackie bottoms - George via British Heart Foundation, H&M skirt and flip flops, Look and Grazia magazines)

Then I got the bus home and I made a (veggie) fish finger sandwich and watched Desperate Housewives. I feel like it has been a very productive day! Pleased :)

Saturday, 30 April 2011

I've neglected this blog a bit, having not done anything very interesting. Here are a few nail art photos from the past weeks:

My multi-coloured dots'Skittles' nails I did for my little sister

Also here is a nice photo of me and Josh at our picnic the other day :)

I believe in waking up together

Title: Drunk Girls by LCD Soundsystem

This morning I woke up at Josh's house which was nice. I took some photos of his cats while he was in the shower because I was bored. The grey one is called Fluffy and the other one is called Tilly. He also has one called Charlie who I couldn't find.

In the afternoon I went shopping. I bought myself a new watch because my old one broke. It is blue and massively tacky, and I decided that I needed some nail varnish to match it
Watch: Identity from Argos. Nail varnish: No 17 in 'Sea Breeze' and cheapy white eBay nail art pen.

I also bought 'Mint Choc Chip' and 'Orange Soda' nail varnishes because they were 3 for 2 :) Then I bought a t-shirt with bananas on from H&M, some pants for Josh in the Topman sale and this cute necklace for £2 from River Island.

Mothers Day

So today was Mothers Day. We took my Nan and my Gran to church and then out for a meal. There was a sign in the church that said 'God doesn't have a mobile phone, turn yours off and try praying instead' haha.

This is what I wore:
Dress from Tesco, £18 but I had a voucher.

This is how I had my nails today:

Grey base: Collection 2000 Hot Looks in Wham. Nail art pens: eBay job lot. Cheapy cheap.
This grey nail varnish is absolutely appalling. I have a yellow one of the same brand and they both chip after a few hours of wearing them. I usually paint my nails before bed so they can 100% dry by the next day, but this had chipped by the time I woke up. Shocked.

Anyway. This is what I had for our meal, vegetable potato cakes and chips, then I had sticky toffee pudding. The one with custard is mine, the one with butterscotch sauce is my sister's. I think mine was better presented but hers tasted nicer!

And last of all, here is the cute little church we visited on the way home. It was very creaky and musty inside and I couldn't get a good picture but it was very quaint and a bit spooky.
